This week has been dominated by Y6 SATs tests. Whilst they do have some importance and should be taken seriously, I am pleased that our children are not ‘over-prepared’ and continue to have a full and rich curriculum throughout the year. The children worked hard and will get what they get. The most important thing is that they have made good progress from their varied starting points and are well prepared for the expectations of high school.
Last weekend, we enjoyed a successful PTA Dog Show. It was a super family event with so many lovely dogs. Big thanks to the Calverley Flyers team for their support, the fabulous PTA volunteers and, especially, to Danielle Johnson who did a superb job as dog show compere. I had a proud moment as my dog came third in the ‘Golden Oldie’ competition (not sure if that was for the dog or handler) and there were lots of other proud owners and handlers throughout the day.
