Farsley Farfield Primary School

Nursery

We have a fabulous nursery that is a great introduction to early education for your child.

Our nursery is staffed by a graduate, very experienced teacher with support from well qualified, experienced nursery nurses –  private day care nurseries are not staffed to this level. Parents must be clear that this is not child care and the quality of staffing reflects this.

Children typically attend from the age of three and get 15 free hours of early education per week. This can be five mornings, five afternoons or 2.5 days: Mon-Wed or Wed-Fri. We work closely with Little People on site who can provide wrap-around childcare for any additional hours needed.

The 26 place nursery itself is large and airy, allowing plenty of space for a range of ‘areas of provision’ for your child to explore and enjoy. Some provision remains all year, whilst other areas such as role play change regularly to stimulate your child in different ways. The nursery also shares the fantastic outdoor play areas at Farfield so that outdoor play is an exciting daily element of your child’s time with us – including a tyre park, conservation area, Farfield Farm, mud kitchen, fort, sensory garden and tree sculptures.  Unlike most other nurseries, we also go on visits around Farsley and Leeds to add more to your child’s learning of the world around them.

Partnership with parents is crucial and our brilliant Nursery (and Reception) blog lets parents find out what their child has been doing that week (or even that day). Click this link to see the blog and get a ‘window into the world’ of Farfield nursery (search Nursery on the right hand side). We also run a secure online multimedia profile of your child that you can access and contribute to at any time.

More general  information can be found in our Nursery booklet.
