Phonics

We introduced the grapheme and phoneme for the letter ‘g’. The children were able to think of many words beginning with this phoneme, and together we sounded out and blended several words.

Maths

This week, we continued to practise our counting skills by adding carriages to a train and counting how many we had. To make it more interesting, we used a dice to determine how many carriages we added each time. This activity also helped to support our subitising skills.

Word Aware

The words this week are ‘soft’ and ‘smooth’.

BrightBites

We had a visitor from BrightBites who talked to the children about tooth brushing, the names of teeth, sugar awareness, dental check-ups, and the importance of taking care of our teeth.

Sports Day

Congratulations to all the children who participated in Sports Day!
