Final day for 5B
This morning, the class took the short trip to Winterscales Beck to undertake a river study of a dry or nearly dry river bed. The dry river bed allows the erosion and deposition to be seen clearly. However after the recent rain, the river was more of a raging torrent. We still managed to see a meandering river and talk about the forces involved but just not as close as we would have liked. After a game of pooh sticks, the children also walked under the Ribblehead viaduct and discovered some of its history.
Finally, the train journey home was a relaxing time with the children enjoying games of cards and chatting.
Many thanks to all the parents who were able to meet us at New Pudsey station to transport the cases. Your help was very much appreciated.
All the adults have been very impressed with the resiliance and detemination shown by everyone over the last three days and I am very proud of how they have worked together with their friends to make it a very enjoyable residential. I hope they sleep well tonight.
