This week in Nursery

This week in Nursery

The children have been having lots of fun this week and experiencing different things.

Snow

Although we haven’t had any snow outside this week we have had some inside! The children have been playing with artificial snow in our messy trays.

Planting

We continue to read our story ‘Farmer Duck’ and this week we have been talking about planting. The children have been planting seeds and they will be checking daily to see if their seeds have grown. We planted sunflower seeds and marigold seeds and looked at the different flowers that should grow.

Farm

We enhanced our book area this week to support our book ‘Farmer Duck’ and have added some photos of farm animals as well as a small world farm which has been very popular. Does your child know the names of common farm animals?

Here is a game to play together at home. Can your child identify the animal from the sound it makes?

I am the music man!

The children have been learning all about the names of different instruments and the sounds they make. They have been playing them loudly and quietly and slowly and quickly. The sessions culminate with a whole Nursery rendition of ‘I am the music man’!

Here is a version you can play at home and the children could use pots and pans to join in and pretend to be playing instruments.

Lots of other fun!

Have a lovely weekend from the Nursery team
