Phonics

During our phonics sessions, we introduced the phoneme and grapheme for ‘n’. The children practised blending words that begin with ‘n’ and thought about things that start with ‘n’.

Word Aware

This week, we looked at the words ‘out’ and ‘over’.

Maths

We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and used our fingers to show how many pieces of food the caterpillar ate. We then focused on this week’s task of comparing. We looked closely and compared different types of fruit and vegetables.

Tennis

This week, we enjoyed some wonderful weather, so we decided to practise our hand-eye coordination skills. We brought bats and balls to the large playground and focused on hitting the ball with the bat. We also did quite a bit of running to chase after the balls!

Everything else

What a lovely end to the half-term! We’ve had some messy play and included lots of different ‘smellies’ in our water area. The children have been very interested in reading and writing, so we have spent a lot of time looking at CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. We have also played doctors and nurses and discussed a variety of people who also help us.

Have a lovely break.
