“In like a lion….” Hopefully, the rest of that saying will come true later this month as we have endured a very windy week. We did keep the children in at break time on Thursday as winds easily exceeded 40mph and our risk assessment needs us to reduce numbers and time spent around the taller trees at those wind speeds.

It has still been an active week. U11s have had two football matches and U10s and girls have had one. On Friday morning, Year 2 enjoyed a skipping workshop. Playtimes and lunchtimes have generally been even more active as the children were allowed on the fields Mon-Wed. We have had some wildlife visits: our usual deer running across the fields at lunchtime with its velvet antlers prominent and a magnificent red kite surfing the thermals around the juniors, its plumage shining in the sun.

On Friday evening, the PTA is hosting its first Iftar meal. Over 120 people are expected, not all of whom are Muslim. It is great to have this new event at school and I am sure it will be a success.
