It has been a super week – helped by warmer, less wet weather that meant that children could play across the wider school grounds. This makes such a difference – lunchtimes have been fun.

On Wednesday, Reception children and families enjoyed a bedtime story evening in the hall and cosy classrooms. We have had a few football matches this week, with U11s and U10s both winning and scoring four in their matches on Tuesday and Thursday respectively, with another U11 cup match to come on Friday evening.

On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day. As usual, there were lots of wonderful costumes amongst both children and staff, with an inclusive ‘Go All In’ theme celebrating hobbies and interests too – we had at least a couple of palaeontologists and a grey-haired David Attenborough! We had a very successful ‘book swap’ – thank you for the donations – and lots of other book-related activity including shared reading sessions. Wendy from Truman Books came to assemblies and the children were excited by many of the titles in the £1 book offer. We are so lucky to have a precious bookshop in the village; mention our school when buying books and we get a bonus.
