Year 6 – 13.6.25
Summer term continues to pick up the pace and this week Year 6 have been completing their incredible writing. Over the last few weeks we have written stories with well-integrated dialogue and postcards from jail written by fairy tale characters. The lead moderator for Leeds came in this week to meet with us and discuss the work we have done this year and was incredibly complimentary about the children’s writing – she particularly noted their brilliant imagination and authorial ‘voice.’
Here are some of the pieces of writing we have done over the last few weeks.
Trip to Armley Mills
On Tuesday both classes will be going on a trip to Armley Mills linked to our History work on the Industrial Revolution. We have still had a number of parents who haven’t contributed to the trip yet and would like to remind you that Parent Pay is still open to do this. Thank you to those who have made their £3 contribution; without this money, trips become very difficult to fund meaning we cannot give such brilliant opportunities to the children. We appreciate your support.
A reminder: children should bring a packed lunch with them on the trip (no nuts please) unless you have already requested one from school and are free school meals.
End of Year Arrangements
Details of our performance of the School-O-Vision song contest will be released soon – watch this space for ticket information.
Leavers assembly will be held on Friday 18th July (time TBC). For this assembly we would like to have a picture of each child from their younger years. If you have a first day of school pic that would be ideal or a baby photo if not. Mrs duPreez will be collecting these so keep your eye out for an email from her which will arrive today.
Here is the YouTube playlist again so you can be note perfect for our performance in July
