Summer is here!
Just like that, we’ve reached the end of another school year — and what a fun-filled week it’s been for Year 3! We’ve packed in assemblies, singing practice, amazing performances, and wrapped it all up with a fantastic summer party full of smiles and laughter. Here are some of our highlights from this week!
English
We’ve finally finished our class novel for the term – Varjak Paw! Throughout the story, Varjak made new friends and faced unexpected challenges, including a surprising encounter with a dog. To his amazement, the dog—named Cludge—turned out to be a loyal and trusted companion. Varjak’s journey eventually led him back to his house on the hill. But once inside, he discovered that all was not as it seemed. With the sinister Gentleman and a group of trapped cats upstairs, it was up to Varjak alone to save them all. As the story ended, our class was left full of questions and excitement for what was to come. Will we find out more about the mysterious Sally Bones in the next book?
Reading
On Tuesday, we had a fun assembly with Jane Fisher from Reading Eggs and Mathletics. The kids have loved using both apps, earning certificates and coins to share with friends. We also found out which students and classes have done well – 3CW & 3B were both in the top 3 classes at our school.
We also found out more about Reading Eggspress, and 3B took the top spot with a fantastic number of hours spent on the app this year. Mrs. Fisher was so impressed, she dropped by 3B on Thursday morning to discuss our reading habits and how we make time to read. The kids were super excited and left feeling inspired to read even more!

Music
Here are our end-of-term performances of the Dragon Song – we hope you enjoy it!
Party
Year 3 loved changing into their party clothes and had a wonderful afternoon singing their hearts out to movie songs, playing charades, dancing, colouring, and, of course, eating! Thank you to all parents and carers for your contributions!

It’s been an absolute joy teaching your children this year, we’re so proud of all their hard work and achievements! They’ve given their best and truly earned a well-deserved break to relax, play, and recharge before heading into the exciting adventures of Year 4.
A big thank you for all your support this year — from helping with reading, sending in cardboard for our DT projects, to joining us on trips. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Have a wonderful summer break.
Mrs Begum, Mrs Connolly & Mrs White!
