Revolting Rhymes, Multiplying Maths and Brilliant Bouldering

Good evening. The rain promised this week has failed to arrive during the day and so breaks have been outside. However, the grounds are wet and so there is plenty of mud around. Apologies if you have had extra washing but I’m sure you’ll agree its better than just having tarmac to play on.

English

Our English work this week has been writing our Revolting Rhymes. Poetry is one of the more difficult types of writing to master but everyone has entered into the challenge and worked hard to match Dahl’s style. Rhyme and rhythm are a key feature of Roald Dahl’s poetry but he also uses alliteration and repetition. After editing, we will post a selection of the poems that closely match his style.

Maths

In Maths, we have been looking at multiplying 2 and 2 digit numbers using the formal method.

This method is tricky, in that it has several steps that need completing in order to arrive at the correct answer. The video below can help your child complete their homework if they are unsure.

In the meantime, here’s a video you might want to share.

PE

Another group went boldering at The Depot this week. Below a few photos of them climbing. Further pictures will be posted in the coming weeks.

Have a great weekend.
