Year 2 News 12.2.26

A brilliantly busy end to a fantastic half term!

Multiplication and Division

We have continued with our learning on multiplication and division this week beginning with looking at using arrays to represent multiplication and moving on to finding equal groups.

Diaries

In English this week we used what we have found out about Florence Nightingale to write a diary entry. We talked about the features of diary writing including writing in first person and past tense, before writing as if we were Florence. You can see 2MW enjoying some drama activities to collect ideas about what Florence might have seen, heard and felt when she arrived at the hospital in Scutari.

Spelling

This week we looked at the spelling rule: double the consonant when adding a suffix to words with a short vowel sound! e.g. patting, tapped, hopping, bigger.

Music

We recorded our performances of rainbows. We hope you enjoy it.

Children’s Mental Health Week

We started the week with a special assembly about ‘Belonging’. In class the children have made their own personal maps to show where they belong. They have done a fantastic job!
