George’s Marvellous Medicine
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s story, we made our own Marvellous Medicines with the gloopiest, stinkiest ingredients we could find. Children rehearsed verbal instructions while directing others to add things to the pan. We have started to write up our recipes and will finish these next week.

Look what the medicine did to poor Miss Campbell!
Spelling
This week we have been learning how to spell words with the -le ending.
Money
We have started our new unit on Money. The homework that you have completed has really helped with this! Children have been making amounts of money using coins and notes. We will continue this next week.
Please have a go at the activities set on Mathletics. Thank you.
Florence Nightingale
We have found out more about the life of Florence Nightingale this week. Children ordered events from her life and plotted her long journey from England to Turkey where she worked during the Crimean War.

Art and Computing
This half term, we are exploring different artistic styles and having a go at recreating them. This week we learnt about the Impressionists and used a new tool on our Chromebooks to make our own pictures. What do you think?

British Library Storytelling Workshop
We had a free workshop on Thursday. Maria from the British Library came to school. She told us all about the British Library in London. Then we retold the story of the three little pigs. Everyone really enjoyed the session.

Which material will make the best bedroom curtains?
In science we have been investigating which fabrics let through the least amount of light. Children set up their investigation using a bog, torch and fabrics.
