Assessments

The children have worked so hard this week and all tried their best in their assessments. We are so proud of how they’ve taken each test in their stride. Well done Year 6! We will use them to inform our next steps and booster groups in the spring term.

PE

This half term 6J have been working really hard on their musical theatre dance. Here is the final product!

Science

This week in science, the children looked at light boxes and used mirrors to adjust the angle of light, tracing their results on sugar paper.

Children also continued their work on light by conducting an investigation into shadows. Would the area of a shadow increase if the area of a shape increased? Would the shadow always be the same area as the opaque shape? They worked in teams to plan and carry out the experiment and then make a results table and graph showing their conclusions.

History

Children completed their research into aviation in WW1 and into the flying aces of the time. Here are some beautiful pieces of work they have completed which we promised to show you once the work was finished.

Next week – Arrangements

In our final week of term, it will be full of busy performances and finishing off pieces of work. As a reminder the Year 5 Christmas performance will take place:

Tuesday 16th December at PM for 6J

Wednesday 17th December at AM for 6D.

We will be watching War Horse which has been our class text this half term on Thursday 18th December in the morning with some hot chocolate and marshmallows. We would also like to invite children to bring in a board game to play on Thursday 18th December and Friday 19th December. Games can be kept in class overnight and should be taken home on Friday. No electronics please.
