Year 4 News 12.2.26

Mamma Mia!

This half term in music, Year 4 have been learning the song Mamma Mia by Abba. We hope you enjoy our final performances.

How to Train Your Dragon

We have been so impressed with how hard Year 4 have been working when writing their own stories over the last couple of weeks. The children have shown excellent focus when planning their stories and writing each section (thinking carefully about what to include in the opening, build up, problem, resolution and ending). It is fantastic to see everyone showing such confidence and pride in their work – we have some super story-tellers in Year 4!

Children’s Mental Health Week

This week we have been talking about children’s mental health week. We watched a special Picture News assembly and thought about this year’s theme: This is My Place. We discussed the importance of being kind to each other and ways of looking after our own mental health. Finally, we drew pictures of the places we feel that we belong. These will be used to create a KS2 display.

Upcoming Events

Some children today were chosen to represent Farfield at a skipping competition taking place on Thursday 19th March. Those children should have brought a letter home with details about the event and permission slips to return. The standard of skipping in Year 4 this year is exceptionally high, and we are so sorry that we could not choose everyone to come to this event. Children not going to the skipping festival will do some alternative sports activities at school instead.

Something for everyone in Year 4 to look forward to is an exciting trip to Murton Park. These trips will be taking place on Thursday 26th March (4NL) and Friday 27th March (4SL). Details of the trips can be found in the letter below. Payments for the trip can be made on Parent Pay.

We hope you all have a fantastic half term!
