Sound Collecting and Shield Making
We’ve had a very exciting week in Year 3!
The Sound Collector
Both classes did a brilliant job of performing our poem, ‘The Sound Collector’ on stage in front of children from the Foundation Stage all the way up to Year 6. Most of the children really enjoyed this chance to perform (and to listen to the fantastic performances from the other year groups). It has been especially lovely to hear the children continuing to enjoy the poem, even reciting it in the playground!
Here is the performance from 3SB. 3B’s performance will be ready to share with you next week!
Roman Shields
The other highlight of our week was definitely making our Roman shields as part of our D.T curriculum. The children worked really hard, showing lots of independence and good attention to detail. Many children cut out their card carefully, thought of creative ways to make a boss for the centre of their shield, painted their designs neatly and used a glue gun sensibly. The finished shields looked fantastic and the children enjoyed testing them out!
Well done to our Special Mentions this week: Yahya, Toby, Harrison, Yasmine and Molly.
A reminder that next Wednesday is Sports Day. Your child should have told you what colour t-shirt they need to wear, but if anyone is not sure, please do get in touch.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
Mrs Sykes and Mrs Begum
