Sam the Sound Man
We have done lots of fantastic learning this week, but the highlight has certainly been our visit from Sam the Sound Man! On Tuesday, Sam taught us all about the science of sound and showed us how to make musical instruments out of materials we probably all have at home! We learnt about how the length and size of an object affects the volume and pitch of the sound it makes, how sounds are actually created and that every sound in the world has its own unique sound wave! Have a look at the photos below to see what we got up to!

We will be using everything that we learnt about the science of sound to make our own instruments this half-term, so maybe the children could spend some time thinking about the type of instrument they’d like to make in the coming weeks!
