Phonics

This week we have enjoyed shared reading with a partner. The children are doing a super job of listening to each other and re-reading their sentences. Please keep reading at home.

Maths

This week we have focused on deepening the children’s developing automaticity with number facts including knowing that whole amounts can be split into parts, knowing the different ‘numbers within’, and naming the parts that make the whole number (e.g. that 5 is composed of 4 and 1, and 3 and 2).

RP at Stockeld Park

The children had a brilliant day at Stockeld Park. They joined in with a storytelling workshop and had fun looking at artefacts and dressing up. They explored the amazing Play Hive and went for a walk around the Enchanted Forest. Thank you to all the parents who came with us. We hope you had a fun day too!

Understanding the World

In our RE lesson, we continued to think about our amazing world. We read and discussed the story ‘Tiny Crab is a Tidy Crab’. The children helped sort some rubbish and learnt about reducing, reusing and recycling. They did a great job tidying the school grounds with the litter pickers. Some children made posters telling people not to drop litter.

The pigs are enjoying our fruit waste!

Everything Else…

Have a great weekend.
