Phonics
This week, the children have worked hard during ‘paired reading’ with a partner. They have practised reading two different books and are trying hard to re-read sentences for fluency. Please keep reading at home too.

The children have also practised using their robot arms to sound out and spell words. They are trying hard to remember finger spaces when writing a sentence.
Maths
We have continued to learn about number bonds to 10. The children have been writing addition and subtraction calculations to show the number bonds.

Farsley Festival
The children are very proud of their finished ‘standing stone’ that they have made for the Farsley Festival.

If you go to the festival, look for your lovely flowers.
Year 1!
The children have enjoyed exploring the Year 1 classrooms and the outside area this week! We will keep visiting over the next few weeks.

Sports Day
The Sports Day is on Wednesday 9th July. Reception will be doing their races from 9.15am until 10.15am. The children are enjoying practising the races!

Trip Reminder
We are looking forward to our visits to Stockeld Park. RGK are going on Monday 16th June and RP on Monday 23rd June. The children need to wear their school uniform. Please ensure your child wears appropriate footwear and a raincoat or sun hat, depending on the weather forecast! We will be outside most of the day. The children need a rucksack or bag to carry their own lunch and drink. Please don’t pack any nuts in their lunch. The children need to arrive at 8.30am.
We would like to wish all our dads, uncles and grandads a lovely Father’s Day.
Have a lovely weekend.
