Nursery Blog – 06.03.26

This week, we continued to explore the phoneme/grapheme for ‘s’. The children practised forming the grapheme and also used a grid to find it amongst different symbols. We are really impressed with their formation.

Words

This week, we explored the meanings of the word ‘light’ as both ‘not heavy’ and ‘not dark’.

Maths

We faced a challenge this week: matching picture cards to their corresponding numerals.

World Book Day

We celebrated over several days to ensure that every child in our nursery could participate. I hope everyone has taken home a new book to read and keep. Each child should also have received a book voucher. We welcomed our Year 3 reading buddies on Tuesday and Thursday, and we enjoyed having older children read stories to us. We got to show off our outfits and listen to lots of stories.

Everything else

As spring approaches, we have been enjoying some beautiful weather. The children have loved spending more time outdoors without getting wet! Some of them even spotted our resident deer, which was a nice surprise. We have started planting vegetables and will continue this next week.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
