Let’s Animate!

Computing

This week, the children have been hard at work creating their own stop motion projects. After spending some time reviewing their plans to make sure they had everything they needed, the children set up their webcams and were ready to begin. Each group was so focused on taking each individual picture, making sure to make only slight changes to keep the animation looking fluid and trying their best to make sure no hands were visible (unless intended of course). After a long afternoon of work, the children had produced some fantastic videos that they were rightly very proud of! 4L’s video are listed in the playlist below and we will add 4SN’s to the next blog once they have all been finished. Keep your eyes peeled!

Geography

Now that we have completed both of our trips to Leeds and Burnsall, we were able to spend some time comparing the two locations, using the data that we collected. The children were asked to spend some time considering the postives and negatives of each area, thinking about the human and physical features that can be found there and the forms of transportation that are easily accessible. Once they had done this, the children had to make a difficult decision – which area did they prefer? There was an interesting mix of perspectives throught the class, though everyone was able to give clear justification for their choice.

General News

This week, the children have been given both maths homework (based on creating reflections of patterns across a line of symmetry) and some spelling work on homophones. As always, if the children are unsure of what they need to do, they can always come and speak to a member of staff on Monday or Tuesday. The homework is due in on Wednesday 2nd July.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
