Happy New Year!

It has been a strong start to the new term and calendar year. I am still doing school tours for prospective families – they are cutting it fine with the Reception deadline next week – and school is settled and focused. As usual, we do these tours at any time or day: always seeing positive provision to be proud of.

This week both Year 3 classes have been to Bradford Alhambra to see a pantomime. For many, it was their first experience of a theatre and many were amazed at how big it was. On Tuesday, a couple of our children even got chosen to go on stage as part of the show – what a thrill! Next week, KS1 classes are each having a workshop with the British Library, Y1 classes are visiting Cartwright Hall gallery and Y4 classes have ‘Sam, the Sound Man’ workshops. So busy!

In December, the government officially published all the Y6 SATs data from last summer. We know that our classes did exceptionally well: second only to Pudsey Lowtown across the whole Pudsey/Farsley/Calverley area. Academic standards are strong in our school. Well done everyone!
