Headteacher blog 7/3/25
It has been such a good week! Dry weather and sunshine makes such a difference and it is great to see the children enjoying themselves across the whole school grounds at break times.
This week has been dominated by World Book Day. Reception had a very successful bedtime reading event on Wednesday evening. The assemblies on Thursday were a sea of colour and the 150 entries in the ‘read aloud’ video competition were amazing! There was wonderful reading and great creativity. Some entries even progressed to separate scenes, interesting props, sound effects and imaginative editing. There were even guest appearances from pets, including a real dancing dog in a tutu! It was a tough job to choose the class winners. I think teachers will have been particularly pleased to receive entries from some children who might not be so demonstrably confident in class or for whom reading has been more of a challenge. I was delighted with them all.
