Headteacher blog 25th January 2019
It has been back to the sixties in Year 2 this week with visitors reminiscing and a day-long workshop that ended with an enjoyable performance for parents. It has been great to have such a vibrant, ‘living’ topic but it does make me feel old that a decade I lived in is now a history topic… Year 1 had a successful visit to an art gallery and a workshop called ‘The Art of Noticing’. Year 6 had an evening meeting to go through arrangements for SATs and their residential in June – something to really look forward to (I mean the residential, but the SATs should be ok too)!
It has been a very poorly week at school: children and staff. This has caused a significant strain across school, but particularly in the infants. Wherever possible, we have covered with familiar staff internally but we have been stretched more thinly than usual and I am grateful to colleagues that have stepped up and ensured that we have nevertheless had a successful week. Let’s hope that the weekend gives everyone the chance to recuperate and be healthier next week.
