Harvest Festival was VERY busy this morning but it was great to see so many families along with over 400 children in the halls. I am grateful to all those families that were able to donate food for St George’s Crypt. The harvest display of produce from Farfield Farm was impressive: many thanks to Ms Howells and her Y4 team yesterday for the initial work, and then Mr Catto for his artistic flourishes. We had fun estimating and then weighing the giant pumpkin: it topped a whopping 32kg which must be a new school record!
Earlier in the week, 2La had a successful trip to the Thackray Medical Museum, looking at the life and work of Florence Nightingale. Year 3 had an enjoyable Stone Age Day on Tuesday and Year 4 had their first swimming lesson of the year. Year 6 have been completing Bikeability training with tutors from Leeds City Council, including some riding on local roads.
