Head teacher blog 18th May 2018
This week has seen Y2 and Y6 completing SAT tests. They appear to have gone well and children have definitely worked hard. The teachers have set a healthy tone – do your best but don’t obsess about them – and most children will have actually enjoyed the week. Whatever the level of attainment shown, the most important thing is that children have made good progress from their various starting points and I am confident that will be the case.
The weather has been glorious and Year 3 classes have enjoyed informative and very aesthetically-pleasing trips to the wonderful Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate. Governors have approved our new school budget and contractors have been around measuring up for the next phase of our roof replacement in the infants. I have started my new part time role working with Children’s Services Senior Leadership Team at Leeds City Council ; it has been eye-opening, exciting and a bit daunting in terms of the scale of our great city. There is lots to do and let’s hope I can make a positive impact.
