Harvest Festival 2016
The school hall was packed for another harvest festival yesterday. The harvest display looked impressive and was artistically arranged by Ms Howells, a Y4 group and Mr Catto. Many thanks for all the donations of food for St George’s Crypt: we know that it is always appreciated. We enjoyed singing and poetry reading from the children, but the highlight of the assembly was probably the huge record-breaking pumpkin and our attempts to estimate its weight. Eventually, we found out it weighed a whopping 32kg! It was grown in one of the new ‘Barclays Beds’ and a large team from Barclays Bank are coming again next week, led by Peter’s dad Tom, to carry out further work on the farm.
After school, almost all the fruit and vegetables was sold on a stall. We still have some pumpkins and the giant record breaker: what might we do with them now?
