Phonics
This week in our phonics sessions, we passed sounds around in a circle while listening for any changes. We also created a sensory story to retell “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” The children participated by using actions and sounds to help tell the story.

Word Aware
This week, we have looked at the words ‘different’ and ‘dry’.
Maths
We have been busy practising our counting skills. This week, we focused on counting various actions. First, the children listened carefully and then indicated the correct number using their fingers. Next, they repeated the actions, making sure to stop when they reached the number that was modelled for them.
Colour
This week, we have been very interested in colour. The children sorted items by colour, created patterns using coloured pegs, made potions in the water area by mixing colored water, and experimented with different powder paints and water to create new colours.

Everything else
This week has flown by. We made paper aeroplanes and flew them around the hall, practised our mark-making skills, got the bikes out, got wet, played with some fake snow, and got caught in a swirling, whirling snowstorm!

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
