Farm visit
This week, the children visited the farm. They loved seeing the goats and chickens. We bravely let the chickens out of their pen to have a little wander around. It took us a while to get them back in, but we did eventually!

Phonics
During our phonics sessions, the children have been exploring sounds. We examined the different sounds of various instruments. The children then tried to create a continuous beat. We passed the instruments around a circle so the children could imitate the same sound.

Maths
This week, we have explored the concepts of ‘big’ and ‘small’. We read the story Big and Small and compared some items as a class.

Everything else
We spent some time in the conservation area and collected some acorns to investigate for our autumn tuff tray. The children have enjoyed rubbing leaves to create some amazing autumn pictures. They also used their hands and paint to create some amazing art. We made playdough and oobleck, which was rather messy (Mrs Myres left some flour out, and that was even messier!) The children have also enjoyed lots of music and movement, taken part in dough disco and tapstick sessions, found worms and a spider, had a go at threading, and played with some superheroes.

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
