The Three Little Pigs

This term, we are reading The Three Little Pigs. We have explored various versions and discussed their differences. The children have also started learning a song that tells the story.

Phonics

We have been using our listening skills to distinguish between instruments from around the world. The children then listened to sounds produced by an instrument and recreated the sound.

Maths

This week, we have been focusing on repetition. We have been singing number songs and songs with repeated verses.

Snowflakes

The children have been busy making beautiful snowflakes for our winter area. They wrapped wool around a plate and added glitter for a touch of shimmer.

Everything else

This week, we had a fantastic time exploring the ice, which perfectly coincided with the arrival of our new winter area! Our learning activities focused on winter and how to build an igloo. The children also showed a keen interest in rainbows and enjoyed learning about the colours and then applying this knowledge to create their own rainbows. We played a variety of games, enjoyed our new Duplo set, and even had a visit from Zoey the dog.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
