First Week Back
We’ve had a busy start to our final half term in Year 4!
English
We have started to explore our new class text, Cloud Tea Monkeys, making predictions about what the story will be about and picking out descriptive language to help us make pastel pictures of the setting. 4L had an exciting lesson finding out if they have the skills required to be a royal tea taster – we will share some pictures of this next week once 4SN have completed the same lesson!

Maths
In maths we have started our new unit on money, applying our knowledge of decimals to convert between pounds and pence, compare amounts of money and estimate with money.
Trip to Leeds
4SN managed to stay mostly dry on their trip to Leeds this week. The children were fantastic representatives of Farfield, showing lots of consideration for others as they walked around Leeds and explored the museum. Many owls were found on the owl trail (with a good demonstration of map reading skills from some children) and the children were able to talk about the different human and physical features of Leeds. Many children were brave enough to interview members of the public to gather their views on Leeds, and they did this very confidently and politely. Hopefully 4L will have dry weather for their visit next week, and the sun will shine for both trips to Burnsall!

Homework
We have not set any written homework this week, but we would like children to continue to practise their times tables before the Multiplication Tables Check next Thursday. It has been great to see lots of children working hard to turn more of their heat map green and improve their score on the Sound Check section of TT Rockstars. Hit the Button is another good game to use for practising quick recall of tables facts.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and a happy Eid to our Muslim families.
Mrs Sykes, Miss Levett and Mrs Newsome
