What a beautiful week it has been at Farsley Farfield – the sun has shone and the children have loved being outdoors in the warm weather. With only 4 more school days to go until our SATs, we have been working hard on revision for our SPaG, Maths and Reading papers.
As a reminder, the timetable of the week looks like this:

Breakfast Club
From Monday to Thursday of SATs week, we will be hosting a breakfast club in the school hall from 8:15am each morning. Children are welcome to come and have a small bite of breakfast and get out their wobbles with each other before the day starts. We will not be serving endless amounts of food so do advise that those with a larger appetite in the morning perhaps eat at home too! Your child doesn’t have to eat to come along – simply being together can make a positive difference. Unfortunately there will be no provision for younger siblings, so those children who walk younger children to school will not be able to bring them inside the hall and shouldn’t leave them in the playground without supervision. If your child doesn’t want to attend breakfast club, this is no problem – we will see them at 8:40 as usual. Letters have been sent home but in case you need a copy, it is attached below.
English
We have continued to do some small burst pieces of writing in order to keep our skills up over the revision weeks ahead of SATs. This week we watched a video about an unusual, supernatural event and wrote some setting descriptions about it. We tried really hard to use a variety of sentence types and specifically focused on figurative language.
Have a look here at some examples.
