Head teacher blog 1st February 2019
It has been a typically busy and exciting week at Farfield. I am always particularly pleased when the school makes good use of expertise and opportunities from the local community and this has been evident this week.
On Monday, both Year 6 classes went to visit Sunnybank Mills to explore our local heritage. This is such a fantastic local resource and it is wonderful to see the building and its contents being used so well in recent years. A living local resource is Kate Park who brought her skills and expertise into Year 1 again to work with the children to create works of art using glass. We are so lucky to have Kate working with us every year and I look forward to Year 1’s art gallery display later in the term.
On Thursday, five of our KS2 children took part in a fantastic ‘Panathlon‘ inclusive sports event at Armley Sports Centre. The feedback was excellent and I am delighted that we have been able to attend a number of inclusive sporting events recently to ensure that as many children as possible get the chance to take part in sports and activity.
