Farsley Farfield Primary School

Headteacher blog October 2nd

It has been a great week at Farfield with foggy mornings transforming into beautiful sunny afternoons. Lots of children have spent time on the farm getting ready for Harvest Festival next week with older children supporting some of our youngest as they picked apples, visited the chickens and ‘helped’ weed the beds.

Both Year 2 classes have visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park this week. They went to the park to see some of the sculptures by Henry Moore and also to see the Poppies:Wave sculpture by the artist Paul Cummin and the designer Tom Piper.

Children in Year 6 have started their ‘Bikeability’ cycle training with Leeds City Council and they have had their first sessions on the roads around school. This is important training and so it is particularly exasperating to see some children without helmets out of school time!
