This morning, Mrs Fisher and Mrs Carney flew out to India for our latest partnership visit. As part of their trip, they will visit the Tong Len charity and make a donation of £3000! This amazing final total is testament to the great generosity of the Farfield community. Thank you.
This week in school, there has been a great deal of art. I have done assemblies about great local artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, David Hockney and Damien Hirst. I was very impressed – across the whole school – by the number of artists that the children could already recall and one child suggested that Kate Park – who kindly came into Y1 to do her fabulous glass art – should also be added to the list of great local artists! 2H have been to the Leeds City Art Gallery this week and today Year 1 hold their own art exhibition in the infant hall. On Thursday, 2F had a 1960s/1970s museum in their classroom bringing back memories for staff and parents.
In the juniors, the children were enthralled by a presentation by Peter J Murray, author of the Mokee Joe series of books. Hopefully, this spooky character will inspire children with both their reading and their writing.
