Year 4 Blog 1.12.23

We have had another great week in Year 4!

Maths
We have been continuing to learn our times tables in Maths this week, focussing on the 7 and 11 times tables. In both lessons, we spent time looking at patterns and strategies to help us learn and remember each times table. Have a look at the 7 times-table video below to recap.

English
In English this week, the children have spent time writing their own stories, based on English legends such King Arthur and Robin Hood. The children used a range of features to add detail and description to their stories, including expanded noun phrases and fronted adverbials. They also thought carefully about their vocabulary choices to make their writing as engaging as possible. The children all took pride in their work and were really proud of what they produced!

Science
The children were exploring pitch in Science this week. The children were set the task of investigating how the tension and thickness of elastic bands affects the pitch of it. The children spotted patterns in their observations and found that the higher the tension, the higher the pitch, and the thinner the band, the higher the pitch.

Homework
Maths – 7 times tables
Spelling – Y3/4 words

We hope you have a great weekend,
The Year 4 Team
