A Mystery Egg!
The children were very excited to find a letter in their classroom from Dot. She left them some clues to follow and they found a beautiful blue egg!

They all drew a picture of what they thought might be inside the egg. There were some interesting ideas!

They also wrote questions to Dot.

Finally, the egg hatched and there was a sharp claw, some scaly skin, burnt paper and some green slime! Was Dot a dragon?? We will never know!

Phonics
The children have all completed a practice phonics screening check. We will share their results with you at parents’ evening next week.
Maths
This week, we have been grouping in tens and ones.

There are some new tasks set on Mathletics. Can your child get a certificate this week? They are all enjoying competing against each other on ‘Live Mathletics’.
Science
In science, we finished our topic on senses. We read the story ‘The Princess and the Pea’ and used our sense of touch to find out how many layers of different materials would stop us from feeling the pea.

Geography
We recapped the four seasons and learnt that we are currently in spring. We used our weather station to monitor and record the weather this week. We also went on a spring scavenger hunt and spotted lots of signs of spring!

Mystery Readers
Thank you to this week’s Mystery Readers.

Have a lovely weekend.
