Spelling Bee Champions!

This morning, a team of 6 children from Years 2 – 6 joined 8 other school teams at Pudsey Southroyd Primary School for The Great Pudsey Spell Off – the first Pudsey area Spelling Bee.

The children competed in pairs through 5 very competitive rounds: homophones, spelling patterns, creating sentences, word builders and a 9 letter countdown challenge.  Our team won many rounds and everyone came home with a medal.

We were thrilled when it was announced that our Year 5/6 pair were the overall Year 5/6 winners …

… and even more excited when we found out that Farsley Farfield Primary School was the overall champion!  We are incredibly proud of the children for representing the school so well today!

We brought a fantastic trophy back to school to add to the shelf in the entrance way and are looking forward to defending our title next year!
