Phonics
This week, the children have focused on rhyme. We have read stories and played rhyming pairs as a class and in groups. When reading, we have focused on expression and intonation.

Maths
During our maths sessions, we have looked at ‘repeat’. We have been singing songs with repeated words to help see the repeating pattern.
Word Aware
This week, our words are ‘below’ and ‘bendy’.
Road Safety
The children were fortunate this week to participate in a Road Safety Day. We had a special visitor who spent some time with the children discussing how to stay safe when crossing roads and how to stay safe when travelling in different vehicles.

Everything else
We’ve had another busy week. The children enjoyed bandaging me up while acting out the roles of doctors and nurses! This led the children to examine different bones and dance to the ‘Skeleton Dance’. We have looked at giraffe facts and charged around like rhinos! A favorite song this week has been ‘Lava Chicken’, which is apparently the ‘best’ song ever. Things have been a little spooky in our classroom. Halloween is approaching, so we have been busy making potions and playing with slime!

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
