Phonics
This week, the children played a game called ‘Out One Out.’ We found three items, but one of them did not have the same initial sound as the others. The children did well with this activity. We also continued our exploration of ‘alliteration’ and shared some silly stories.

Word Aware
This week, we looked at ‘bottom’ and ‘corner’.
Maths
We have been busy practicing reciting numbers in reverse order. The children enjoyed playing rocket games and counting backward to lift off.
Past and Present
Thank you for all the baby pictures! The children enjoyed looking at themselves and each other from the past and comparing how they’ve changed and how they do things differently now. If you haven’t sent a photo yet, feel free to email me next week.

Everything else
What a week it has been! We started the week by focusing on how to use our powers for good. The children came up with some fantastic ideas on how to make their friends smile. We watched a Remembrance Day video and respectfully observed two minutes of silence. The children received some new dinosaur toys that required a lot of thought to assemble. We used screwdrivers to attach the pieces and discussed the concepts of clockwise and anti-clockwise. This week, we also brought out some solid paint palettes and water for the children to explore and create with, resulting in some amazing artwork. As the week came to a wet end, there was nothing better than jumping in some muddy puddles!

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
