Nursery – 23.05.25
Phonics
This week, we have introduced a new phoneme (sound) and grapheme (letter shape). The sound we looked at is ‘a’. We will continue to look at this letter after the holidays.
Maths
We have continued to look at the number 6. The children have practised forming the numeral and represented it.

Fruit tasting
This week, the children have tasted some fruits. We discussed the fruits in detail and used lots of vocabulary around the topic, such as juicy, sour, bitter, sweet, flesh, skin, peel, seeds, soft, and hard. The children had a go as drawing on a table to show which fruits they like and dislike.

Everything else
We have had a very busy week! We have been very lucky to be gifted some ‘new’ toys. Having something new in the classroom often sparks a desire to play and not share/take turns. The children have enjoyed playing with the toys and learning to share/take turns with their friends. We have continued to look after our outdoor area by weeding the grounds and watering our plants. The children have also enjoyed digging for treasure, paddling, dancing, playing instruments, and hunting for minibeasts.

Enjoy the holidays.
