Nursery – 09.05.25
Phonics
We started to look at the phoneme and grapheme for ‘s’. I orally blended some words beginning with ‘s’, e.g s-a-t, before introducing the new letter and the rhyme that goes with it. We have also had a go at using our bodies for percussion when saying the rhyme, ‘Sid the silly snake.’
Maths
We have enjoyed watching the Sesame Street number 5 song and practised numeral formation. It’s a tricky numeral to form, but everyone tried their best.

Planting
Thanks to Wickes, we have continued our growing project and made our outside area bright and colourful. The children have weeded and planted and learnt about what plants need to grow. We also had fun collecting worms to see who could find the longest!

Painting
The children have been experimenting with cornstarch and paint. This created a textured chalk effect that they particularly liked.

Everything else
The weather has been lovely this week, which has meant we have been able to be outside more. I think the children especially enjoyed the water!

Enjoy the sunshine!
