Headteacher blog 27th March 2026
It has been the busiest week of the year for our school minibuses with two long trips down to South Yorkshire for Y2 classes to go to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and two long trips to beyond York for Viking days at Murton Park for Y4. Furthermore, our KS2 school councillors were taken to Leeds Civic Hall for a ‘youth summit’ in the council chamber. We have also had three football matches against other schools, visits to St John’s church and a stellar end-of-term performance by the Musical Theatre club.
On Wednesday evening, we had our termly Full Governing Board meeting. It was a busy, very well-attended meeting. Amongst many other things, we considered the implications of the precipitous drop in births locally and the possible responses to all the financial strains that schools are facing.
