Over the half term holidays please keep reading and using all the flashcards to play some fun sound and word recognition games.

Maths
We have had lots of fun with 3D shapes this week. The children have enjoyed learning their names and their properties. They have been on a shape hunt around the classroom too. What facts can they remember?

Children’s Mental Health Week
This week we have been talking to the children about ‘belonging’. Where do they belong? The children had some super ideas. We belong to.. our church, mosque, family, Rainbows, swimming class, school. We then made a map to show where we belong.

Dates for the Diary
This is just a reminder of upcoming dates for next term:
Wednesday 4th March – Bedtime Story evening
Thursday 5th March – World Book Day
Wednesday 26th March – Spring Event (more details to follow)
The Lost star
This week it was time to get the star back into the sky. Before we returned the star we took a trip to space. We got dressed in our space suits, put our seat belts on and counted down from 10 to 0. When we got to space we made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (we had to keep grabbing all the bread that kept floating away!!), we brushed out teeth and strapped ourselves into our sleeping bags for a quick sleep before we walked in space. We returned to Earth to put all our super star writing and the items we had made in a safe place outside. Watch the sky tonight to see if you can spot our lost star!

PE
In PE we finished our unit on gymnastics. Today, we used the apparatus to practise everything that we have leaned: jumps, bunny hops, and balances. The children did incredibly well.

Everything else…

Have a lovely half term break. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 23rd February.
