Rainy end to January
English
This week we have started to write our own version of the Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The classes have been, or will be, split into small groups so that each child is in charge of their own scene. Editing will then take place as a collaborative effort. Once everyone is happy with their script, they will perform the play to the class. Hopefully, videos will be posted next week.
Maths
We have come to the end of our units on multiplication and division. However, the formal methods we have learned are vitally important and so we will revisting these frequently. Our next module is a return to looking at fractions. The first lesson is how to multiply a unit fraction by an integer. The video below will help your child to complete the activity.
Music
In Music, we have been creating our own composition based on the half term song, Freedom is Coming. In 5B, we listened to a selection of them this morning. Below is a screen shot of Xavier’s excellent work. Unfortunately, the file format is not supported so that it is playable on this blog site but you can see the composition below.

Reading Buddies
Finally, both classes visited their reading buddies in Year 1 this morning.
Photos can be found here and here.
Have a great weekend.
