English

Our English lessons were all about rhyming this week. We read lots of stories that rhyme and the children selected objects that rhyme and created rhyming soup! The children did a fantastic job of reading their rhyming soup aloud to the class.

In handwriting, we practised forming the curly caterpillar letters cadg.

Phonics

We have learnt the phonemes wh/ph/ew/oe this week.

Maths

We have continued to learn about less than and greater than in our maths lessons. We have used these symbols.

Science

We have investigated the enquiry question ‘Are all tree trunks the same?’. We looked closely at the trunks of an apple tree, a mountain ash and a wild cherry tree. We then measured the circumference of the trunk and recorded the results in a table.

Road Safety

The children all took part in a road safety lesson, led by a team from Leeds City Council. They learnt the Green Cross Code. Can they remember it?

Look what was in our playground!

After school on Thursday, Miss Hardwick and Mrs Galbraith spotted a deer on the hill! The children were very excited and asked lots of questions. We used the internet to find out lots of deer facts. They think they found some dried deer poo at playtime!

We are looking forward to seeing you at parents’ evening next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have a great weekend.
