5KH Residential evening
This group are just so quick: everything is over 15-20 earlier than schedule! Can they do this tomorrow too caving and cycling?
The night walk group practised 6 figure grid references and orientating their maps to line up with observable features. The children did some good map reading and we didn’t get lost! We did manage to sustain a Farfield tradition of finding a sheep skeleton in a shake hole. We saw oystercatchers and heard curlew. (One minibus did actually see a pair of curlew fly over them earlier.) We found lots of wool and did some impromptu spinnning.

The other group had their church visit curtailed as it was unexpectedly locked this year. They visited the viaduct instead and the children were waving at another car parked adjacent to them. To their shock and surprise, the unmarked car was suddenly illuminated in blue lights and then a siren sounded – a pair of police officers laughing inside.
We have had hot chocolate and a biscuit and the children are now in bed. Lights off at 11: again, ahead of schedule!

Again some great pictures, beautiful scenery 😍
Well done 5KH! What an adventure. Hope you all get some sleep ready to go again for tomorrow.
It’s lovely to see them having such a great time. They are braver than I am touching that sheep’s skull! Looking forward to seeing more of their adventures tomorrow.
