Farsley Farfield Primary School

S Factor 2017

This morning we had our S Factor Finale. In front of a packed hall, each class’ champion scientist presented their investigation or demonstration to the team of three ‘real scientist’ judges (all female): Jane (an immunologist), Davina (a medical professional) and Bernice (a chemist).

Congratulations to Mrs Galbraith, Mrs Daniels and Miss Levett for their hard work setting up the competition and making it run so smoothly. Many thanks to ALL those children that entered the competition (and their families who provided support at home).

Congratulations pupils and teachers of Farsley Farfield! Your experiments look like a lot of fun, awesome effort, well done! Science is cool, way cooler than football, and I am not saying that just because I was always picked last for the teams in PE!! Science will help us work out how to live on our planet without killing it, science will help us fight climate change and science will help us live longer, happier lives. Inevitably science will help us adventure into the universe, so what is cooler than any of those things? The world urgently needs more scientists now, and if you want to be a scientist, you can be, so please keep it up, work hard at school, become a scientist and help us make a better future!

Thank you for your inspiring comment. I really do feel that we have many budding scientists in our school! The teachers have worked very hard over the last few years to make science ‘hands on’ and show the children how fantastic the subject is.
      Many thanks
