Farsley Farfield Primary School

Headteacher blog 3rd March 2017

It has been a busy week of sports at Farfield with U9, U10 and U11 football teams all having matches, our cross country teams from Y4 upwards competing in a very challenging Cross Country Leeds finals and a large group of Y6 children competing, and winning bronze, in a new Cheerleading competition. Children really do benefit from the range of PE experiences that they are able to access at Farfield and I am grateful to a range of staff that put themselves out to support and lead sport in the school.

I was really pleased and impressed with the number and quality of candidates for new parent governors for the school. Some schools struggle to recruit governors but we never do. I am very grateful for the support and challenge that comes from governors who give up their time to work for the school. My only regret is that we can’t take every nominee – it always feels really mean to not be able to accept these positive and valuable offers. Look out for the election paperwork coming soon.
