I had the pleasure of accompanying class 2C on their trip to York’s Castle Museum on Thursday. The children were, as expected, delightful and inquisitive. It was a shock, however, that there weren’t any other schools at the museum throughout the whole day. At Farfield, we really value educational visits and I hope that other schools do too.
Back at school, Year 1 really enjoyed a day of glass-related art work with local artist (and Farfield parent) Kate Park. In February, Year 1’s artwork for this term will have its own gallery and show in the infant hall. Earlier in the week, Reception had a (planned) visit from the police force and there did seem to be a lot of sirens wailing in the car park! On Tuesday evening, the PTA met to continue planning forthcoming events such as the Beetle Drive, Race Night and Camp Over. We also agreed many thousands of pounds of expenditure on things that make Farfield special: expenditure agreed included some soil for an extension to Farfield Farm, playground markings, bikes for Foundation Stage and a provisional sum for a replacement minibus. Many thanks to everyne who has supported the PTA – it is appreciated!
